CRS or Comprehensive Ranking System has an especially important role to play in immigration to Canada. Through this system, the applications of prospective Canadian immigrants are assessed and then ranked in the Express Entry pool. The higher the ranking, the better your chances of getting an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to become a permanent resident (PR) of Canada. If the score is above the minimum cut-off, you have a chance of getting a visa; however, a lower score means, you need to reapply after gaining a few more points to improve your chances.
